1” chip brush

Silver or black paint

The process:

Wear gloves and place the mirror face down on any protected surface like cardboard. Apply stripper to the back of the mirror and allow it to sit. Remove the paint with a plastic scraper. When the paint has been stripped, wash the mirror with water and soap and let it dry.

Again, put the mirror with face down on a protected surface or a cardboard. Now, gradually apply the patina solution to the reflective surface of the mirror. It is advised to apply the solution in heavy amounts at the edges because the mirror will start aging from the edges inwards. Slowly, the solution will start eating up the reflective surface. You can continue applying it till the desired look is achieved. After you are satisfied with the process, wash it with water to neutralize the reaction.

After it has dried, reapply the paint you have chosen. This paint will be visible through the spots created by the solution. The dark areas will give a silver-grey look. To get nice results, you can apply a combination of dark and light silver paints. And do remember to apply the paint till the surface is completely covered.
